For the final project of my Visual Technologies graduate course, I visualized the performance of host countries in the Summer Olympics throughout time. The Olympics dataset was provided in class and incorporated a wide variety of variables. I decided to tell the story of host countries because it is said that they perform better when they host. The project used D3.js and enables user interaction with the use of buttons to highlight countries and a tool-tip revealed when points are hovered over.

Below is a screenshot of my first iteration. It has several issues that are resolved in the final version above. A few major changes include color coding, re-positioning the host city names, and button styling.
